What would the animals say?

Typical starving Mexican street dog

What would the animals of Mexico blog about if they had the ability? Obviously, that isn’t about to happen anytime soon, but here in this forum I can give them an online voice by sharing my experiences with you as a long time advocate for these animals and as someone who has dedicated many years to understanding the root causes of their suffering and tragic circumstances.

Who am I? I am a veterinarian and the cofounder of the grassroots non-profit organization Compassion without Borders. I live a fairly hectic life as a shelter veterinarian in northern California, full-time volunteer and director of CWOB, and mother of a rapidly growing 20 month old son.

In this blog I will share everything from how I ended up rescuing over 1000 dogs from south of the border over the years to crusading against electrocution of animals in Mexico to my own personal experiences with individual Mexican animals who have touched my heart and who tell the tale of why I do what I do much better than anyone else.

I welcome your question and comments and hope this blog will serve the animals well as I strive to tell their tales and share their stories.

To start us all off , please take a moment and read the story of why I chose to help animals in Mexico, which you can find at this link: http://cwob.org/why.html
