Our Impact

We bring brighter futures to animals in need on both sides of the border. Through our lifesaving programs, we provide essential veterinary care, rescue animals from dire conditions, and take on complex medical cases to ensure that every dog has a chance at a healthy, happy life.

Each year, we:

  • Provide critical care to 10,000 at-risk animals living in severely under-resourced areas.
  • Rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of animals from desperate situations.
  • Deliver low-cost veterinary care, including lifesaving vaccinations and spay/neuter, to over 8,500 animals on both sides of the border.
  • Partner with U.S. shelters to take on complex medical cases, ensuring those animals receive the care they need and find loving homes.

Spay/Neuter Clinic

Spay/Neuter Clinic

In the U.S., monthly low-cost, subsidized spay/neuter clinics make this essential service accessible to our community—preventing unwanted litters and easing the burden on overcrowded shelters.

In Mexico, our free, high-volume clinic sterilizes more than 5,000 animals every year, addressing one of the root causes of animal homelessness where veterinary care is otherwise out of reach.

Wellness Clinics

Wellness Clinics

Our low-cost Wellness Clinics and mobile unit, The Esperanza Truck, bring veterinary care directly to underserved communities—so no family has to surrender a pet over financial or geographic barriers.

Staffed by bilingual professionals, our clinics provide vaccinations, flea control, deworming, microchips, and ID tags—keeping pets healthy, at home, and out of the shelter system.

Adoption Centers

Adoption Centers

At Muttopia, our 3.5-acre sanctuary in Santa Rosa, CA, rescued dogs recover medically and emotionally with room to run, play, and rebuild confidence before finding loving homes.

In Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, our Home for Hope shelter is the first stop for animals rescued from the streets—offering safety, veterinary care, and the start of their journey toward adoption.

Rescue

Rescue

We rescue animals from abandonment, homelessness, and neglect—found on the streets, taken in from overcrowded animal control, or surrendered at our free clinic in Mexico.

Every rescue receives medical treatment, nourishment, and compassion. Once stable, many travel north to our Santa Rosa shelter to prepare for adoption; others find homes locally in Mexico.

Northbound Hope

On September 2, 2025, thirty-nine rescue dogs began a two-day journey from Mexico to Northern California—leaving hardship behind for safety, medical care, and the promise of adoption.

They arrived without complications and are thriving today: playing, healing, and preparing for their forever homes—made possible by donors, volunteers, transport teams, clinic staff, and partner organizations working as one.
