TULIA

This sweet girl came to us with an old injury to her right rear leg. Due to the chronic nature and severity of the injury, the leg could not be repaired and was surgically removed on December 17, 2025.

Since surgery, this dog has recovered well and is expected to live a happy, active life as a tripod. Most dogs adapt quickly and thrive with three legs.

ADOPTION UPDATE

"I can’t believe it’s been a whole month since Tulia came home. What a whirlwind it has been! In that short time she has:

  • Become friends with her dog brother, Owen
  • Given Zoey, her kitty sister, hundreds of kisses (which makes Zoey purr every time)
  • Played in her new ball pit
  • Worn out one of mom’s shoulder sockets from throwing the tennis ball so much
  • Received a dozen new toys she plays with daily
  • Built a stash of at least 8 different treats at any given time
  • Lounged under the mister on warm days to keep cool
  • Had her first vet visit where she charmed everyone
  • Saved mom from at least a dozen and half pesky flies by catching (and eating) them
  • Had her first road trip to meet family
  • Greeted mom every single morning and afternoon by rolling around on her back and looking extremely adorable
  • Discovered the pinnacle of cuisine, AKA Costco rotisserie chicken

Tulia is truly an amazing, resilient, happy girl. I am so grateful to have her in my life and she is already so loved. She has had several out and abouts with little-to-no dog reactivity or selectiveness and is in the process of learning to get her toys on command when something bothers her so she can settle more quickly. She’s doing incredibly well in such a short time. 🥰 "
