BENITO

This boy almost didn't make it, but today he is absolutely thriving!

When we first rescued sweet Benito he was suffering from distemper, a very serious and potentially fatal disease 💔 A concerned community member reached out to us about him and his siblings when they were found living in poor condition. We got the mama spayed and all of his siblings found loving homes, but Benito needed longterm medical care and observation. One of our staff members fostered him and helped nurse him to health.

When first in our care, he could hardly lift his head or eat. All of that has changed now.

Today, Benito is an exuberant and healthy puppy. Everyone who meets him falls instantly in love. Benito is the perfect mix of snuggly sweet and mischievous fun. His best friend is a 4-year-old lab mix and we have the feeling he doesn't know what a little runt he is (pretty sure he thinks he is a big dog).

Help us celebrate this miraculous turnaround by dropping a 💙 for little Benito.

Since surgery, this dog has recovered well and is expected to live a happy, active life as a tripod. Most dogs adapt quickly and thrive with three legs.

ADOPTION UPDATE!

"Benito or Beni is doing great! He loves everyone and his hikes and sister Lucy . We love him dearly and Lucy’s teaching him the ropes! Thank you for saving my baby shark! He wakes me up with a paw in the face and lots of kisses every morning. I’ve shared photos on Facebook and received some from your coordinator in Mexico. My poor little guy was so sick! He’s loving life now! Thank you all for all that you do!"
