Compassion without Borders provides a brighter future for animals in need on both sides of the border. Our mission is to find the animals that are in the most urgent need of help, yet the least likely to be helped due to geographic, cultural and socioeconomic barriers.
Ensure Compassion Without Borders’ future of life saving and eliminating suffering.
Through current or planned giving commitments, Legacy of Hope members allow us to plan and expand CWOB’s programs serving the most needy animals and their people in our California and Mexico communities.
If you’re ready to create or update your will, you can work with an estate-planning attorney or explore a free online resource such as FreeWill to help you get started.

With a recent change in tax law, you can now give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000 per person/per each spouse) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Compassion Without Borders without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit. This useful option is called the IRA charitable rollover, also referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD. For donors at least 72 years old, QCDs count toward the IRA owner's required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a convenient and tax-efficient way to support the causes you care about. Similar to a charitable giving account, a DAF allows you to recommend grants to Compassion Without Borders and other qualified nonprofits whenever it is most meaningful for you. You can make a one-time gift to provide immediate support for animals in need or schedule recurring grants that sustain our lifesaving work throughout the year. Giving through a donor-advised fund is an easy way to make a lasting impact while simplifying your charitable giving.
You can also extend your compassion for generations by naming Compassion Without Borders as the beneficiary of all or a portion of your donor-advised fund. If you choose to designate only a percentage of your fund, you can name family members as successor advisors, allowing them to continue recommending grants to the charitable organizations that matter most to them.
To include Compassion Without Borders as a beneficiary of your donor-advised fund, simply contact your fund administrator to request a beneficiary designation form.
Planning for the future is an opportunity to create the legacy you want to leave behind. By including Compassion Without Borders in your will or living trust through a charitable bequest, you can ensure your love for animals continues to make a difference for years to come. Your gift can be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after providing for your loved ones.
