“You’ve got a great heart, kid, but, remember – you can’t save them all”

These were the deflating words spoken to me by my boss about 13 years ago, right before vet school.

I had left Mexico, where I had been living for a year, and took a position organizing spay/neuter in the four corners region of the U.S. on Native American Reservations.

That lack luster phrase – “You can’t save them all”, occasionally echoes in my ear on more challenging days.

It has actually been repeated to me on several occasions, by different people, in all sorts of scenarios – usually with the best of intentions.

Needless to say, I pay it no attention.

Who says I can’t?
…or, at least, that I shouldn’t at least try.

Those who know me and Compassion without Borders , know we do just that. We do whatever it takes to make sure that we help as many animals as we possible can and that no animal slips through the cracks without care and protection.

Thus the momentum behind our “No Animal Left Behind” campaign.

We are currently in a 60 day race to raise $20,000 to match a generous gift that  has been offered to us by a donor who wants to help us purchase a mobile veterinary clinic for our local free clinics.

Why do we need it? To make sure we can continue our free clinics and increase the number of animals we can save.

Our free clinics are reaching animals who otherwise would not receive care due to geographic, economic, cultural and language barriers – these animals need us.

We currently host the free clinics out of parking lots in underserved neighborhoods. We set up under tent canopies, which is hard on us,  the clients, the animals and our wonderful volunteers.

It’s hot. Or, it’s cold. It’s windy…or maybe raining….We have to set up a mash style clinic wherever we go and it is exhausting and inefficient.

We desperately need a mobile clinic so we can save more lives, gain access to more underserved communities, and expand and improve the quality of care we can give the animals who need it the very most.

Please help me with my mission to save them all.

This is a very personal mission and a very personal ask.
